Meme question: Character you would date

Nobody from ENT or DISCO on here because I've not yet seen those. Also, positive I left somebody imminently date-worthy off the list. Tell me about them in comments. Also feel free to elaborate in comments on why you would or would not date certain characters. For purposes of this poll, please assume all dating takes places when characters are adults and said dating causes no infidelity (aka Keiko has left Miles or else she's fine with you dating him).

So my would not date list includes

Spock and Tuvok--I don't think I could date a Vulcan; I am extremely emotional, and I think the logic would piss me off in the context of a romantic relationship.

Dukat, Damar, Weyoun, Kai Winn--all villains

Guinan--she's so old and wise; I bet she'd be patronizing without meaning to

Kes--has a very short expiration date; not setting myself up for heartbreak

Q--would drive me nuts

Barclay--we would feed each other's anxiety and paranoia to epic heights

Tasha, Neelix, Odo, Chakotay, Vic--don't do it for me; like them as characters; not really attracted

Garak--don't think I could ever trust him completely

Sisko--he's about to become the wormhole Messiah and fuck off to parts unknown; no thanks

Quark--he'd be fun, but you know he'd get up to some harebrained scheme and lose all your retirement money or whatever

Kira--she's really intense and religious and I have had enough of both those things (but my god she is hot)

Data--I love Data, but do not want to be part of teaching him how to human

Everybody loves Geordi! Smart, competent, handsome, funny, and the only really good ass in Starfleet.

Torres is so much my type. Looks like I'm not the only one.

Guinan and Picard are in my age range now. Well, I guess by Guinan's standards I'm a mere child not even done with my first century. That would be refreshing.

Pulaski is a bigot and I wouldn't even bring back Starbucks for her.

I answered Bones just cause I love him. None of them make me think 'oh I must date!' It's more that I would like to have some of them as friends.

Barclay is totally not-date for exactly the same reasons you gave. That would be scary.

Dating? LOL. There are just two people from this list I would want in my bed: Kirk and Q. Everyone else has baggage I don't want to have to deal with, or character flaws that would keep me from enjoying myself.

I answered Spock, even though he'd be a disastrous boyfriend, because he was my childhood crush. Like in 3rd grade.

McCoy now, for sure.

Picard, except he'd never put our relationship first, so I didn't check him.

And then I skip several iterations until Discovery, I'm afraid. Though I generally fancy men, in this case, Michelle Yeoh, no questions asked.

Okay, here goes.

Would date McCoy, even though we'd probably have an interesting time of it if we were both being crankypants. The man's got a marvelously caring side and competence for days, which put together melts me into a puddle, plus that whole classy southern gentleman thing. Good gosh.

Would date Uhura. I had such a schoolgirl crush on her as a teenager, only I couldn't admit it at the time. Closets suck. I wouldn't mind being platonic protegee to her mentor either.

Would date Sulu, although we might be better as friends. I've elaborated elsepost all the reasons he's one of my captains, and they all apply here. That's up to and including the voice one, which wow. I got thoroughly teased in high school over my giggliness over that voice.

Would date Chekov and be fantastically enthusiastically nerdy together, but we'd probably wind each other up anxiety-wise and horribly. Two similarly high-strung people--ooh. We'd likely be better off friends.

Would date Geordi, for all the reasons someone gave above (except the one to do with asses, because I have no clue!) I might get to him with the whole high-strung intensity thing, though; he's got me soundly beat in the mellow department. I am so very like Sonya Gomez. And if he's still carrying a torch for Leah Brahms... I'm not intruding on that.

Would date Kes, for reasons. I have a caretaker type. Not a Caretaker type, mind you! When she's in skilled, empathetic nurse mode--wow.

Would date Chakotay, and what is it with me and the mysterious ones? Good gosh, he's cute, and it's subtle, but he darn well smoulders. Still waters, you know.

Would date Sisko, although we might well clash ethically from time to time - 'I can live with it' indeed. When he gets into the protector/station commander mode he has, or especially when he goes gentle... wow, again. And voice for days and days, again. Dreamy as a dreamy person from dreamy town.

Would *not* date Bashir, even though he ticks a few of my boxes--ahem. Those boxes aside, he's far too in his own head for me, and he's got an arrogance that'd probably bug me before long at all.
