I'm sorry, I don't remember. It was about ten years ago. (ETA: Oh, but for a while I was having iron infusions (via IV) because I couldn't tolerate the tablets, and those were really effective, really fast. But probably tablets are pretty fast too.)

Don't feel bad! You can't know what you don't know. And it's not like you've been ignoring the problem! Just at a loss to know what the cause is.
